I've had my Dboys since the day they came out, have skirmished and gotten kills with it, lousy shooting but the wind helped to get the kills, and mine is still working fine, I just take my time and line up my shots first

The bolt cracked and seemingly there's no way to fix it, and spare bolts are pretty
much impossible to find.
Mine had a different problem. Every couple of times, when cycling the bolt, it came off the receiver...
Instead of quick reloading I had a quick field disassemble...

I would advise against that.
Fit the receiver first, vsr outer barrel 2º (for the location of the mag well and hop chamber).
Cut all parts with some tolerance so you can easily make them fit, one by one...
Its the 1st time i try this type of "work" andI have made a couple of errors already. No great damage has been done and it will shoot correctly... I hope...

I've never bought anything from him either, but he's quite a well known dealer here in Denmark as he has been very active on one of the Danish auction sites.
A timely revival of this thread since I've just finished my Bar10/DBoys K98 conversion.
I'm quite happy with it, even if its not in the same league as Boshmans and some of the others. Thanks to them for posting up their pictures, I've lost count of the number of times I've been through this thread checking for ideas and inspiration.
It just about works, it only feeds with the original jg mag, not the Marui one, I'm still trying to figure out what needs doing to get them both to work. Apart from that it shoots straight, which is always a bonus. I'd guess it took about 30 hours of work in total, I think my Dremel is worn out.
The pictures makes the stock look quite light, but in reality its a bit darker.

I'm not sure if I just haven't read the thread closely enough, but I can't find any specific information on how to attach the rear sight to the Bar10 reciever. Someone used Blutac, which I assume means that he drilled out the rear sight from the original reciever? Is there any other method?
And about the cocking handle, how much of a chore is it to change the Bar10 to the correct one? I think it's pretty important given the fact that I'll have to carve out a hole in the stock to make the Bar10 fit.
I cut the rear sight from the dboys receiver and attached it to the BAR 10 receiver with 2 part epoxy and covered the join with Miliput, then spray painted it.
I left the original bar10 bolt and cut the stock to fit it. I did this because I wanted it to be robust and I dont have access to welding equipment. I could have pinned and glued it but didnt fancy my chances of getting it right.
Tibby, you obviously didn't look very hard! The information (and pictures) of what you seek are on the first 7 or so pages .

I found after three conversions it is better to drill and tap the whole before you shorten the part the bolt handle fits over. It gives you a whole to go into while when you cut it you get rid of that hole which helps keep the drill straight.

I've shaped the wooden stock for the angle of the bar 10 bolt. Plus as it all works really well I've decided to leave this one alone. If I ever do another, I'll try it with the dboys bolt handle.

Just felt I had to say a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed info to this thread.
Started my project last night, with just a few hand tools and because I am cautious I took it slowly and have just about finished letting an MP001 into the K98 stock.
I work part time at a military surplus/airsoft shop in Huddersfield and have a really great boss who let me use the airsoft repair workshop last night

Although I didn't have internet access whilst I worked, I did find that reading this thread over and over beforehand whilst handling the parts and visualising what needed doing helped tremendously.
OK there is still quite a lot to do, but the project has started and by taking it easy, removing a small amount of material....mating the parts up...checking for fouling...taking apart...removing another small amount of wood...etc., etc., this will get you there slowly and surely.
Rather than being a boring process, so far, I have found the whole thing quite "zen" and have enjoyed the slow pace. It definitely leaves you no mental space for anything other than the task in hand...Sweet.
When I get hold of a decent camera I will try and post the odd pic as she progresses.
I hope this post isn't clogging the thread, but I just had to say a big thanks to those who have walked this path before and taken the time and trouble to put the info on here...you know who you are

Hi Fellas,
Had a night off the K98 tonight........apart from a bit more handling, looking and planning.
Next job is to reduce the flange/casting behind and below the bolt, so that the whole receiver assembly will drop into the stock that last 6mm or so.
Just forward planning here, for the later stages......Does anyone have a decent Band Spring for sale?

Here is K98 I made from a TM VSR and Dboys. I ended up selling it right after finishing and managed to lose a good 100-150$ in the process.
